A modification is considered anything that modifies vanilla gameplay either through adding Minecraft mods or texture packs, directly modifying the client or otherwise affecting your software or hardware. This thread covers everything you need to know to ensure you can safely use allowed modifications to improve your gameplay without fearing breaking the rules. Note that this thread may be modified at any time and that AquaSMP does not endorse any of the listed modifications. ► Allowed Modifications Modifications which cannot provide an unfair advantage are allowed on the network. That being said, it is not entirely obvious whether some modifications can or cannot provide an unfair advantage, so it is highly recommended to review this thread from start to finish to ensure you are not misinterpreting any modifications. Below are listed some examples of allowed modifications: Aesthetic modifications. These modifications only modify the appearance of your game without providing you with any sort of advantage. Modifications which alter the transparency of any blocks do not fall under this category and are disallowed. Brightness-adjusting modifications are allowed. Chat macros. These modifications send chat messages at the press of a button or otherwise automate sending chat messages. This is the only allowed type of macro. Cosmetic display modifications. These modifications provide information in a more accessible way (for example, by showing your armour's durability on your screen so you do not have to check it by opening your inventory). This category also covers modifications which show the health or armour durability of other players. These may not work on all game modes, which is intended. Performance-improving modifications. These modifications seek to improve your client's performance (frames per second) without otherwise altering your gameplay. Optifine is the most common example here. Recording modifications. These modifications record your gameplay for you. A common example is the Replay Mod. Clients containing only allowed modifications are permitted. Owning a modification which has disallowed features may get you banned. This applies even if you are not actively using any of said features. That being said, below are some common misconceptions and types of disallowed modifications: Automations and gameplay macros. Any modification which automates non-chat actions is against the rules. This includes modifications which click for you, assist your clicking (excluding modifying debounce time, which is allowed) and similar. Some common modifications which fall under this category are various auto-clickers, X-Mouse Button Control, using Minecraft glitches (such as the F11 glitch) or physical objects to perform actions while you are not on your keyboard and changing your Minecraft controls/keybinds to perform actions automatically. Hacked and ghost clients. These clients have features (such as extended reach, modified knockback, etc.) which offer an unfair advantage over others. Such features are disallowed on their own; not only while in a client. Minimaps with entities. If a minimap shows anything other than blocks (such as players or mobs), it is disallowed. X-Ray mods and texture packs. These modifications alter the transparency of blocks or entities. The categories above and the lists below are not exhaustive. However, you can click on the following spoiler for some examples of disallowed modifications to ensure you are not using any of them. If you are unsure whether a certain modification is allowed, it is best not to use it. Modifying your flying speed is considered an unfair advantage and is disallowed. This covers any Fly Boost mods. Player reports submitted with a Nick Hider are considered invalid due to security precautions. The Printer module of the Schematica mod, used for automatically pasting builds, is only allowed on Factions and OP Factions. It is disallowed elsewhere. Using bot accounts on the server is allowed only if the bots do not cause any issues. They may not spam the chat, cause lag or similar. Using disallowed modifications built into approved clients is forbidden. The most common example of this is Fly Boost. Global Rules Explanations Account trading Trading and attempting to trade accounts. Advertising Sharing IP addresses of other Minecraft servers. Ban evasion Playing on the server while another account of you is IP-banned. Blackmailing Demanding an item/gift card/third-party-service from someone in order for you to not perform certain action that could either compromise their gameplay experience, or your account's safety. Threatening to report someone for breaking the rules is not covered by this rule. Examples: Constantly joining a player's game in a server and targeting that specific player and asking for something in return in order to stop doing so. Someone asks you to purchase a Discord Nitro membership in order for them not to steal items from your in-game account (applies when the user blackmailing you has your password). Chargebacking Purchasing something from the store and then returning the payment or opening a PayPal dispute. Cheating and illegal modifications Using illegal modifications (click HERE for more information), ghost/hacked clients, autoclickers, macros and any other clients/mods that give you an advantage over other players. Using the Minecraft 1.15 keybind auto-clicking option and putting an item on your mouse while playing are covered by this rule. Cyber/DDoS threats and wishes Cyber/DDoS threats and wishes against/for anyone and anything. Discrimination Being homophobic, racist or offensive towards religions, nations and races. Death threats and wishes Wishing people to severely harm or kill themselves and threatening people to severely harm or kill them. Abbreviations as 'kys' are covered by this rule. Doxing (including threats) Sharing very personal or private information of other players and threatening to do so. Duping Using some sort of exploit in order to duplicate items or money or any similar behavior. Encouraging breaking the rules Encouraging other players to do something against the rules. Exploiting Abusing bugs and glitches that give you an advantage over other players (click HERE to make a bug report instead). Falsifying evidence Using forged evidence in order to obtain something which you are not entitled to, getting someone punished for something they have not done or anything related. Forbidden links Sending links to hacked clients or websites that could be an IP logger or download malware. Unknown, unclarified and suspicious links are covered by this rule. Foreign language (in public chat) Speaking in a non-English language in public chat. Illegal items Owning items you are not supposed to have or items that are not obtainable in a legit way. Examples are command blocks and overpowered potions. Illegal trapping methods Locking up other players in portals or using teleport commands to teleport other players to you in order to kill or trap them. Inappropriate capes and skins Capes and skins that contain discriminatory, sexual, swearing or any other type of inappropriate content. Inappropriate content (outside the chat) Additional ways (outside the chat) to display discriminatory, sexual, swearing or any other type of inappropriate content. Builds Group (clan, faction, gang and team) names Group (clan, faction, gang and team) descriptions Item names Nicknames Inappropriate usernames Usernames that contain discriminatory, sexual, swearing or any other type of inappropriate content. Lag machines Building machines with the intention to cause server lag. Media advertising Advertising social media accounts or sending links to YouTube videos or channels that are not related to AquaSMP. News, songs, Discord tags and any other 'random' videos are not included in this rule. Discord servers are not included either as long as they are related to AquaSMP and its community. Mute evasion Using the chat to communicate with other players while another account of you is IP-muted. Negative behavior Being negative and rude towards other players or staff members in any way. Negative use of disabilities and diseases Using disabilities and diseases in a negative way or context. Real money trading Trading real life money or attempting to do so. Sexual content Sharing sexual related content and describing sexual related actions. Mentioning genitals and words as 'MILF' are covered by this rule. Spamming Sending messages as 'HHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO' that flood the chat and constantly sending the same or similar message with the intention to flood the chat. Staff impersonating Pretending to be a staff member. Examples are claiming to have ban permissions or pretending you are an alt account of a staff member. Swearing Using swear words. Teaming with cheaters Intentionally teaming with cheaters.

AquaSMP Rules & Punishments We aim to provide all players with the best experience on the network by providing them with a safe, fair and friendly playing environment. In order to achieve this, we strictly enforce a set of rules which all players must follow. By logging on to the AquaSMP Minecraft server or by making use of the AquaSMP Discord and forums, you agree to follow all rules that are listed in this thread. Lack of knowledge about the rules will be treated as ignorance and a mistake on your part and you will not be exempted from the consequences of breaking them. Disclaimers Account Sharing Account sharing is not disallowed. However, we strongly discourage players from sharing their accounts. Several of our punishments include IP-bans and IP-mutes. Sharing your account could land you in trouble since your IP address will be linked to other accounts and vice versa. Your account is your responsibility. High CPS Clicking Methods Any form of autoclicking is strictly forbidden (including the Minecraft version 1.15 option). We also strongly discourage manual clicking methods that cause extremely high CPS. Non-PC Gameplay Playing on non-PC applications (phones, tablets and similar) can make you appear like you are cheating even when you are not and can get you punished either by our anti-cheat or our staff members. We strongly recommend you stay away from non-PC applications for Minecraft due to this reason when playing on AquaSMP. VPN Usage VPN usage is not disallowed. However, we strongly discourage players from using a VPN on our server. There is a chance you will join the server on a banned or muted IP address which could land you in trouble since your IP address will be linked to other accounts and vice versa.
